As always, well said and I love the cartoon itself. Wonderfully simple and complex. Keep on bringing your love to the world or I’ll be forced to protest you. Ha!

Excellent thinking, Brother Fish! A good definition of a cartoonist is: a person who can see, draw and think at the same time.

That's groovy. So much simpler than my definition - ha!

One of the several core themes weaving your ideas and feels into the creative tapestry of this piece leapt off the screen for me as 'pragmatism' -- philosophical practicality -- which its inventor Charles Sanders Peirce had to rebrand as 'pragmaticism' to distinguish what he'd invented from what William James' "pragmatism" and Friedrich Schiller's "humanism" reductively made of it.

You might enjoy a recent Substack post of mine on this Gordian Knot of finding praxis in the face of fascism and absurdity, "I KNOW (I THINK): Or do I? Do you? Do we?."

I’d say a cartoonist is someone who doesn’t want THEM to get away with ‘it.’
